The story behind Suspicious Suns

I was so into the checkers from Love is the Honey that I wanted to do another checkered print, just in a completely different palette this time. Suns might feel like an obvious motif at this point, but there's something so wholesome and warm about them that I can't help coming back to it.

My friends know this about me: whenever they travel and spot a little sun illustration somewhere, they send it my way. It's become a bit of a running thing, and this print is basically an extension of that.

The story behind Viva La Vulva

The design that changed how I think about designing. Up to this point my whole method was: be as random and wacky as possible, no deeper reason needed. This was the first time I wanted a print to actually stand for something, specifically, to support Subz_padz, a charity that supplies sanitary products to underprivileged women and girls. I started sketching around themes like the moon, blood, periods, womanhood, and it turned into this abstract piece rather than anything literal.
